Copper & Co. on the trail of cables
It is their core that makes cables still valuable even as a waste material. To give just one example: According to the German Copper Institute, about half of the annual copper demand in Germany is already covered by recycled material. A good part of this comes from electrical, earthing and other cables. Cables also contain other valuable materials. Besides pure aluminium, steel and lead are also recovered from them.
Several THM recycling machines show their strengths when it comes to the economical shredding of cables. The first is the TSM1500 Pre-Shredding Rotor Shear. This machine cuts the cables to the exact length required for efficient further processing. It is followed by a granulator type ZM or AG and a CM100 granulator, which shreds the shredded material to the required granule size and breaks down the plastic coating.
